The workplace was much different in the early 90s when I began working on Wall Street as a research assistant for the Investment Company Institute. (For the record, I was Chandler Bing before Matthew Perry.) I used mainframe terminals, not PCs. Ties were mandatory, which I often paired with suspenders. I had hair. And I went to the office every day.
Many things have changed in the last 30 years (my how time has flown) – suspenders, and my sons will tell you, hair included. The office is still the office, but on those days when I work at home, I am joined by the Firm’s Chief Morale Officer, Cheeto. Cheeto frequently checks on me and ensures that the Firm is helping its clients spend their time on their own clients.
